LED H4 replacement was created by SWest
After having trouble with my HID H4 headlight AGAIN, I ordered a LED H4 replacement bulb. It was supposed to be plug and play and cost a little over $17 delivered. There are lots of different ones but this one looked sturdier so I bought it. I was looking at the full units like the Highlander but they were out of my budget range at least for now. I was also concerned it would draw too much power being it was advertised as 200 watt. I am pleased to find it takes less power than my old HID. The only drawback is it's not ice blue like the hid. I'm convinced the color got the attention of other drivers and prevented accidents. We'll see how this one does. I'd like to see what other members are using on their bikes. Please post them here for comparison.

Was the HID headlight some sort of conversion kit?

My 81 KZ650-CSR came stock with a sealed beam, but I replaced it with an H4 headlight from an 82 750 Ltd.
It was a direct swap >> lens unit, H4 bulb & dust cover. It's significantly brighter than the old dull headlight & changing the bulb will be easier.
I'd still like to get something brighter, if there is such a thing that swaps with the H4 bulb.

No eBay APP ID and/or Cert ID defined in Kunena configurationExactly what this does. For under $18 it was worth a shot. Doesn't gobble power like the old styles and less than the HID. Got power to spare now. B)

I fitted one of these, works great but you need to lower your aim quite a lot.
You fit adaptor then replace rubber then install your bulb.
Pre this I had 90/100 watt H4, so much better now.

Hey Steve I've been doing a little research on LED headlights... It seams the good ones have a wide pattern with a sharp cutoff line and a concentrated hot spot... how does this one stand up to those criteria. Do you know what Halogen carrier you installed?

The carrier came of a KZ550. That's all I know. I figured at $17 I'd give it a shot. Happy with it so far. If there's a better one I'm all ears.

No eBay APP ID and/or Cert ID defined in Kunena configurationHey steve, saw your posts on the LED bulb,

Still works good for you after some time? No burnt dust cover or anything else in the headlight bucket?

Looks good seeing that I wouldn't have to fit a ballast or anything like that. Was thinking about getting one for myself.

Just for clarification talking about this bulb:

For those with a 7 inch headlight, this is also an option.
