Hey all, i've been crusing the forums and this seems like a really helpful place! I would like to know if you all have a barebones wiring diagram made up and if someone could point me in the direction of a good points replacement that would be awesome. oh and here is the resto so far..

Howdy. Unrelated to the wiring. Next time for painting the side covers, you can remove the emblems before painting by scoring or cutting the metal lock nuts with a dremel, then pry them with a painter's tool or putty knife. mine crumbled >> the metal was old & brittle. New oem-style lock nuts are available, but I used a different type that thread on & applied a small dollop of rtv as a just in case. credit to skyman.

Here's another link to the same topic scirocco linked. Simplified wiring diagrams by loudhvx >> Pg 11 (see pages 11-21).
If it doesn't work, search KZR for bare bones for mattylight.
some of the diagrams are no longer there (pgs. 1-10). But from pg. 11-on many are still available.

There's an 82 KZ750-H3 wiring diagram on pg 15 & an 81 KZ650-H1 CSR on pg 14. I did not look thru any more pages.
The 650-CSR is very similar to the 750H Ltd and has the same ignition system & charging system as the LTD.

Also, there's a good pdf service manual available for the 750-4 chain drive & the mbsween KZ750L3 page has stock wiring diagrams.

That earlier link works, but the first page diagrams have been lost. Most, but not all, of the later diagrams have been restored.

I think the 1980 Kz750 Ltd might have already come with electronic ignition. At least this diagram I drew in 2013 shows it that way.

16 for most things including the ignition. Maybe 18 for lighting other than the headlight.

14 for the red/white and black/yellow of the regulator rectifier.

Much heavier, obviously for the starter circuit.

Just an FYI. Z1Enterprises.com has colored wire. I would try to keep the wire colors as close to stock as possible. The hardware stores around here don't have a very good selection for matching the stock wire harness. I've never tried an electrical supply, so I'm not sure what else is available out there.

I'm not sure European gauge wire is the same size as in the U.S.. Maybe it is, I just don 't have any experience with it.

For the starter cable and ground cable, to the battery, you will want the conductor to have about 6 or 7 mm cross section. Also, home wiring or industrial wiring tends to be very stiff, even for stranded conductor. If you can get finely stranded automotive wire that thick, it would be much nicer to work with.
