Vm28 passages holes

Hello
i actually rebuild a Z1R carb. This one is untested and on the bottom of the carb n4 i can see  1 obstrued hole …
is it nomal ? Why are for those 2 small holes ?

You need to be more clear and hightlight the holes you mean but the one in the roof of the float chamber ( at 12 oclock in the pic )  is a breather , the blank one at 9 o'clock is the undrilled casting for a fuel screw which is only utilised on the Suzuki GS versions of the 28's which use the same casting and the blank hole at 3 o'clock is the undrilled orifice which would house the accelerator pump nozzle if they were the pumper version ..
Everything that can be seen is correct for the non pumper Kawasaki version of those VM28's .

It is the undrilled breather hole that is only used when the casting is used in the #3 position.
Yoiu will see that #3 has the breather hole in that position and the other side is blank.
These carb banks are made up of two pairs of common castings which are then drilled and machined to suit their final position.



 

Ok thank you. You mean this hole is just used on carb 3 ?
I want to be sure this is not an error of a previous owner and the fonction of this hole.

Yes! That hole is only drilled on number 3 carb.
It is not an error..
