Can I put 26mm Mikuni’s on this Bike?   I bought the bike without carbs.  Will the stock manifolds accommodate these 26mm’s????

It’s got a 4into1 Kerker & I’ve got K&N Pods to use.

thanks!!!

I know “WiredGeorge” will do me well too.

Yes, you can use VM26's, but VM24's would likely provide better running.  VM26's were used on 1000cc bikes, not 650's.

VM24's are MUCH cheaper to purchase, too.  And Wired George will charge you a lot of money, and you won't know what you are getting.  I've had guys send me their carbs that WG "rebuilt" previously, and they were all messed up.  You have been warned...

Welcome.
Nice looking 650!

KeiHin CVK32 carbs off an early Ninja 600, and the ZR7/S can work too.
Work well on a kz650.
ZR7 stock manifolds and air box boots will be needed.

CV carbs don't work well with pod air filters though.

Yes! VM26's will fit.
Use z900/1000 inlet rubbers and elongate the holes inward slightly to fit the narrower spaced head mounts.

Great suggestion about the newer CV carbs.

Sorry to argue, but if a Dynojet kit is installed, CV carbs function just fine with pods.  The key is the more tapered and adjustable needles.

I have pods on Keihin CVKs on my ZRX, along with Dynojet Stage 3 kit, and they work just fine.

I got Wiregeorge to rebuild a set of VM24’s.  I told him it was running pods and a header.

I put a new Dyna-S on it and New MAGNA 5.0 Ohm coils & NGK wires.

It’s running Rich as hell and turning my plugs(NGK BR7ES) Black.

Also when you REV it & let off the throttle the RPM’s don’t immediately drop.

ant suggestions????

WG is one of the most experienced Mikuni carb guys on the planet.  If you're having problems with your carbs then give him a call or send him an email.  I'm sure he would want to know and help.

I have several restored bikes along with a 2006 Goldwing with a sidecar. My wife has a 2019 Suzuki DR 650 for on and off road.

George may be experienced, but I suspect he has some hacks working for him.  I don't say this lightly, I say this after seeing some sets that came from his shop that were totally messed up (filled with blasting grit.)

Also, all the (normally) zinc plated parts were media blasted, removing the zinc.  He then sprays them with some clear rattle can paint, and the parts rust very quickly.  For the kind of money he charges, I'd expect the parts to be re-plated properly.
