When you mount the oil cooler, you may want to mount it lower than the normal gpz550 position. This way you can put on a steering damper in the future. But you also have to put stiffer springs in so the fender won't contact the cooler.

just a thought. The damper is a life saver for me.

Those are of an after market damper. I recently found out a damper from an old Kawasaki H2 (or H1) two stroke also fits with a few small modifications. Either way, the oil-cooler needs to down a little.
