I think if the blue was darker (like the indoor shot) it would be killer (the green is nice but there are a lot of green Kawasaki out there)

Thanks guys, the coin flip might be the way to way to go...

Wookie: both photos were outside with the test pieces in the sun. The darker one was taken with the sun behind me.

I'll check the blue paint again - I think the base coat was a light metallic blue and the candy was darker. If so I can probably just put a few more coats of candy on and it should be a bit darker.

I have to go blue. Green, to me, was a bad luck color. My 80s ELR was stolen

Don't be ridiculous! It's only a flesh wound!

I agree that if the blue was darker it would be the way to go. But how about mixing the two and getting a turquoise?

look at "Moro Blue" its an Audi color and the color I went with on my Z1.  If you add some metal flake/metallic to it, it might be exactly what you're looking for.

Since I cannot decide which color looks best, I think that you should decide!

Thanks guys. I was originally tending towards the green, but I think I'l go with the blue and add a few more coats of the candy to make it a little bit darker.

The ZRX1200 had a beautiful dark blue. 2004 I think.

Did some bead blasting today. Will do the forks and tank next week and then start painting (should have the frame back by then).

Finally got around to pulling the forks apart today. Will bead blast the lowers next week but before I do I was wondering if it's possible to remove the compression daping screw. I don't think it will come out without drilling out the plug on the side but I figured I'd ask just in case anyone knows better...

Also, I'd be interested to know what the screw actually does - how does it actually restrict oil flow?

The screw changes the size of the by-pass passage (like a mixture screw on a carb) to adjust the oil flow rate
