Matt, I think I found the turn signal alarm you were referring to while going through my SOS (stash of sh#t) today. From the looks of the bracket I believe it was mounted to the bottom of the headlamp bucket with an 8x1.25 bolt at the location of the deleted headlamp adjustment bracket? I would probably trade you for labor to lace up a rear wheel for me! (Ha Ha!)

Thank you Mike, offers of help and parts is why this is a great family.

I think I’d be the winner though as shipping for you wheel would be far more than the signal alarm. That said I’m not opposed to helping you lace your rim. Here’s what I found in my SOS (lol) it’s off my ‘76 Kz900 LTD. I don’t remember if I placed the alarm in the bucket for storage or if that’s were it was originally. The male 3P connector on the harness side is short, the female 3P on the alarm is long enough to appear to be designed for the connection inside the bucket and the alarm mounted outside. I can’t ever recall seen one mounted there in any pictures I’ve seen. The only reference to the alarm in the FSM is in the testing and diagnosis section for the turn signal circuit. It shows the connector inside the bucket and meter probes on it for testing. But it shows nor says anything about the alarm itself.

I had one for a short time. It sounded like a droning duck so I got rid of it. :sick:

That looks like the piece I found, it doesn't look right to me inside the shell and I'm unsure if the sealed beam would fit with it positioned there. It wouldn't make sense, to me anyway, to have an audible device inside the mostly closed up shell, but maybe that's what made it sound like a "droning duck"! Turn signals and related pieces were some of the first things to come off our bikes "back in the day". Now I'm really nervous waiting to turn left in city traffic, which I rarely do, without something else flashing to HOPEFULLY draw attention to the fact that I'm not moving!

I agree Mike. The more rational threoy was to mount it outside of the bucket. I think like you the sealed beam wouldn’t fit with it inside. It is rubber covered and would appear to be best mounted underneath facing rear. The wire seems to have a natural set that makes that mounting position likely.



Must be age and experience that make the brain think that sitting in an intersection on a 45 mph rated road at night without any turn signals is bad and could really hurt. Over the spring I added red running lights to the rear of my ‘78 1000 and upgraded to all LED’s

It mounts underneath the bucket pointing to the side.

Thanks Steve. Must be something that get tossed right away. I cant recall ever seeing one mounted in a photo

Local painter painted and match to original paint..pretty close.

That sounds like the emergency flasher thats mounter on the right hand bar mount.
