got my thick head on !! more of the same. front mounting pin again not too much of an issue coil mounting brackets also needed cutting and bending in to clear inner tank the coil fixing plates were also bent to get the coils back in the correct place

seat pan is nearly finished not sure weather to body work it and have a seat made to fit in it or to have the whole thing upholstered. dont worry nt going cafe style seat my arse likes a bit of comfort these days!!! hinges came from the kz400 frame and seat road signs seem to be perfect for seat bases! 5mm craft foam worked fine to make a former to place the fibre glass onto seat was made over size so i could cut it down later seat before cutting down to size

another small victory today. indicators fitted. 02-06 Z1000 after buying cheap chinese indicators that only work when they feel like it or you have to bang them to come on OEM was a better choice! it would seem that kawasaki wanted indicators fitted in the reflector slots as they bring them nice and square

progress so far. its turned into the kawa parts bin special!! KZ 1000 police forks,clocks,wheels and swing arm. GPZ 500 front brake and clutch lever assy. 636 rearsets. ER6 switch gear and late Z1000 indicators St1000 tank and tail unit i think the front mudguard is LTD or CSR but not sure.inner rear mudguard is KZ400 and so are the seat fittings

after spending time making the bike look better IMO! i thought it was time to see if it runs , as far as i know it has not been used since 1995 so i was expecting a furry inside to the engine but had a nice suprise when the rocker cover came off,clean as whistle oil must have been changed before it was layed up i thought maybe the clutch would be stuck together but again all was good added fresh oil and fuel and she lives. took it for a spin gears seem good and no weird noises apart from the chain rubbing on the centre stand! once the bike is done it will be removed and only used when needed

nice work. i dig the stance. what are you doing for side-covers? I keep thinking a bikini fairing would look great on there.

thanks. ive got one mk2 / st side panel so far so i think this is the way im going to go. a fairing of some sort is on the cards, just need to find something i like. autojumble is where i think something may turn up hopefully something in fibreglass as its easier to work than ABS

rear light unit. a sheet of ally. a couple of Harley rear light bulb holders and the side reflectors from the generic square zed rear light lenses

seats nearly done .decided to upholster the whole thing rather than paint it. blue foam is firm but not hard. shaped with a bread knife and a well worn flappy disc in an angle grinder
