I had to have certain nuts and bolts safety wired when I was road racing.

I still safety wire most of the critical nuts and bolts on my streetbikes.

The actual wiring is the easy part. Its drilling all those little holes in all those nuts and bolts that is a real pain in the a$$!!!!!

I have been safety wiring a lot of nuts and bolts on my GSXR 7/12 project. dunno how may 1/16" drill bits I have gone through, but... a lot. the worst is having the bit snap in the fastener and spending 15 min trying to get the broken bit out.

If you're looking for a new rear master cylinder Brembo makes super nice rear masters for like $50-60 but needs a push rod and reservoir for another $20. I put one on my kz1000 with a lightweight brembo rear caliper.

In my old age, I just don't have the temperament anymore to stand there and drill all them little holes!!!!

Considering how cheap titanium fasteners have gotten in the past years, and my lack of temperament in my old age. I just been ordering most of the fasteners I need in Titanium with all the holes for safety wire already drilled in them!!!!!

The corrosion doesn't look good in the piston bore. I have to admit I wasn't prepared for

The caliper and piston will soak for a while in the parts dip. It may be just old brake fluid. I'll do a close inspection once the parts are clean.

Corrosion in the caliper bore doesn't matter. It does in the master bore and on the caliper piston surfaces though because they are the contact surfaces for the seals.

The piston looks pretty good after cleaning it up. The top has some chips in it, but I think that won't be an issue.

Almost done cleaning and blasting the rear caliper parts. Finished blasting the triple clamps and float bowls, too (since I was using the blast cabinet).

More refinishing. I am using heat paint on the brake components. I also finished blasting and painting to carb tops. The outer chromed ones were really pitted, so those will go on the inner carbs. The smooth, nicer looking ones will be on the outer carbs.
