Lol I’m sure he did. I just took it home to clean it out. When I reassembled it I must have not put it together correctly.

A write up of the valve shims positions and thickness for later adjustment is a must do.

Yeah. He did do that for me. I just can’t find the piece of paper he did it on.:angry:

I could be wrong but could I take the shim where there is two much clearance and put it in my tight number 1 cylinder. Thus hopefully balancing it out. Does that sound logical.

No, it does not sound at all logical. It sounds like you are just trying to avoid measuring the clearances and properly adjusting them. Keep in mind that if you do not adjust the clearances properly (see the Kawasaki Service Manual for details) you stand a good chance of damaging the engine rather than improving it. Ed

Oh okay! I don’t mind checking clearences. I was just curious as to the best method to find out which shim was placed incorrectly.

Measuring the clearances is the only way to see if any of the clearances are not within spec. If a wrong shim was inserted measuring the clearances should identify the problem. Ed

rich mixture is cool..lean is hot...i have read several posts with same problem with no solution...Mikuni carbs dont have a choke.....what about a malfunction in the cold start passages?????
