awesome build :evil: ,

love the gauge treatment .

my dad has a speedhut speedo mounted in the factory gauge pack of his 72 chevy c10 pickup.it has a 409ci.smallblock and a late model 5 speed so the speedhut was perfect.

Thanks Leon, I have speedhut on all my bikes, the Z1R, Fj1200 and now franki. It's incredible riding a bike whatout worrying about a bouncing needle. It does have a draw back through tunnels and sometimes in a high tree area (bounces a bit). Saying that they look great and are brilliant to use.

Third ride is now the Frankenstein 1981 GPZ1100B1, 1983 fully recon motor fitted LOVE THIS BIKE

Emblems have arrived, the engine sidecovers will be polished later, re-checked shims, cam timing and carby balance, runs nice BUT I have a slight backfire just above idle (only when cold). On idle no backfire (runs nice) and throttle response is great.
I have to admit my FJ1200 has the same issue but not as bad.
Anyway this is it, thankyou for looking.

My wife and I have the same tastes, for ages (7 months) both of us would mention a colour but either of us was not sure. When we saw this colour both of us clicked and there it is. I was going to add stripes etc but when we saw the finished paint work we agreed it would spoil the "rich" look.

I think a gold and white stripe, like the stock stripes, would look great, not a bright gold, but there are certain shades of gold that would suit that color, the white would compliment the wheels, it does look good as it is though... This is where someone who's good with photoshop would come in handy..!!

Can someone tell me what the little frame pipe sticking out behind the left hand side side-cover, just behind the date stamp on photo. I have seen this on other frames but what is it for?

Are you ready for this one???? You might not believe this!!!!!!

That is Kawasaki's answer to problems with bike theft and insurance companies charging high premiums or refusing to insure certain models that had high theft rates...seriously!

Kawasaki sold, as an option, a scrawny length of aircraft cable or something like it, with a closed loop at both ends, as a "theft prevention" device. The cable was stored in that spigot welded to the frame. The idea was you removed the cable, looped it around some part of the bike and maybe a solid object like a light standard, then back to the helmet lock, I think. That was supposed to keep a would be thief from stealing the bike.....

I've never seen an actual cable, but have seen partial pictures of them....it looks like a good wire cutter would cut it. The later GPz has the spigot welded to one of the front down tubes just under the steering head, in front of the cylinders....

serious?, I've seen these spigots but have never seen anything in them, thankyou for your information. I just wish I ground the thing off before painting the frame. cheers
