A while back I asked for some carb help here, and got it, which was much appreciated.
Since then I've finished getting the old girl road worthy. I runs like a top!
Everything works as it should, even the LCD dash stuff. Its complete, and original minus the bar end mirrors and the V&H pipe.
Its got 11,000 on it.

Its definitely a "10" (looks OK from 10 feet), has about a million small cosmetic issues. I don't mind a bit though as its a pretty darn enjoyable daily rider. Looking nationally on Craigslist, I'm surprised how rare original / complete ones are, considering how many were sold. The ones that are out there seem grossly over priced.

Looks like the one I had in college in San Diego. What a great bike.
Nice job.

Very nice; and I'm glad to see you're keeping it original! You're right; there are very few original KZ / GPZ bikes still out there. I haven't seen another one in my area for many years. That's why I hate to see nice, original examples chopped up for projects which more often than not are abandoned. Ed

I'm going to sand and repaint the engine covers that have some rash, and probably sand blast and paint the exhaust.
One side cover has a crack that wasn't fixed real well and I could definitely improve that. I'll keep picking away at it to make it prettier.
Maybe next winter I'll powder coat the frame and think about a paint job if I can keep it original colors.

Here's a question: On the left front frame downtube, near the header and clutch cable, there is a little stub tube that points up at an angle away from the frame. What the heck is that for?

And thanks for the comments!

That was for the accessory cable that would allow you to lock the front wheel.
