I'm wondering if anyone has suggestions on a replacement front master cylinder since the original is slanted and going to run into my tach.

usa-motorcycles-inc on eebbaayy lists a number of new aftermarket Fr Br mc. There are probably other sellers.
For a single disk Fr Br you'll probably need to get one that is 12.5mm or maybe 14mm. 16mm is for dual disk.
Also, if you don't know the age of the Rr brake shoes, replace them. get oem or vesrah (made in Japan).

there are loads of inexpensive Chinese MCs on ebay. I have put two on bikes that i flipped and they seemed to work just fine. If you want higher quality you can get a brand new Brembo MC for about $120.

Got the starter clutch rebuilt. Had to get the specialty tool for holding the stator off Ebay in order to get it off and get the rotor bolt out.

Found out my torque wrench only clicks one way so had some fun getting the rotor bolt back on in the reverse thread at the right torque. Might have to check that again sometime later.

Was putting the bike back together and messed up the clutch release. On my 1982 CSR you have to BACK out the clutch release adjuster till it connects, then tighten down the lock nut!

After it was all together, took a bit to get it to turn over but then it was running pretty good.

Here's a video of it running:

Found out that you need the ground wire for the signals to flash. The small signals I got only had 2 wires. I tried to run a ground to the lights but kept blowing my 10A fuse. Ended up using the old lights but moved them. Relocated my signals to the headlight braket. Had to get creative with the mounts.
