Yeah, You got me, I'm a Poser. I made those cans with my own hands from stainless steel. I'm a 16 year Machinist/toolmaker, and welder. I did a hack job I guess..

I like it. Having ridden big and small V ulcans the past 25 years and kz s as a teen and now I don't give a sh* t. about people's approval. Now I will say the commeraderie of the Vulcan club and some of few I have become acquainted with here is welcome and the/their experience is appreciated. R

My bike is loud in a growling kind of way. Competition baffle. It screams ponies. I got gas then pulled away from the pumps, shut it down and lit a cigarette. Two guys my age were filling up their cars, one looked at the other and said "bad ass", the other said "you know it." Made my day. To me a bike can be loud and sound like SHT. You know when it is making power, not just noise. Hogs run uncorked all the time, that doesn't mean they're making any more power. Like a kid yelling look at me, look at me.
I get scoules too but I can see them watching me in my mirrors as I leave them behind.

I think that explains the dirty looks.

I was reading a article by S&S talking about what makes power on a dyno. The straight pipes lost power. The put a bolt in it and that raised the HP a fraction. If it's going to be loud, you might as well get something out of it too.

Okay, to be fair, 36mm forks and by eyeballing it's about 2 1/2 times that which you dropped the forks. Or around 3 1/2 inches. More than an inch is typically thought as too much. Wonks up the geometry and handling characteristics. Proper way is to take apart the forks, shorten the springs, install lowering blocks and re-assemble.

The battery box/aluminum chunk just hanging down and saying lookatme looks unfinished. And like I said, even choppers are wearing side covers these days, looks unfinished without them.

And yellow and black are not complimentary colors, just jumps out and looks gaudy deep, dark and sinister black and yellow flash doesnt look right. Steve is also right S&S tried tuning straight pipes, got the timing right and jetted it right, changed carbs and got better results with stock pipes.

I knew better than to ask for opinions,if you want to question the handling, Watch the video in the link above. The speed limit is still 55 here and it gets there plenty quick with the sprocket and chain conversion I did. It tops out at about 120. The original frame gussets were removed and replaced, I also added more, reinforced the swingarm and replaced the gussets there too. it is stable as a rock, and even with the shorter pegs, I have no issues putting them on the ground. it's nearly 100 lbs lighter than stock. The wiring is simplified as much as possible and for the most part hidden. The exhaust is straight through with a smaller outlet. If i lost any power it's not noticeable. The steering head bearings were replaced with roller bearings and new races.

It's funny how my measurements keep getting questioned. I build aviation tooling.
