Hi martin,
a question about the hydraulic clutch, you need to change only the cover with the actuator or also the clutch basket is different? I'm interested in this modification, it's the first time I hear about it and might be on the list for my winter overhaul of my bike! ;)

Also, the rear shock are the "RFY"? can you tell me the length and how you feel them? I'm going to buy a couple to be installed on my GPZ to get rid of the unitrack system that I don't like...

"daghe gas!"

They make a drop in replacement that just fits in the cover. I went a different route to save some money. All I will have to do is modify the cover.

I like these shocks. I have them on my Honda as well. They won't perform as well as ohlins but for the money the work great.

There has been progress on this. Not much, my 3 month old take a lot of my time now so i dont get quite as much shop time. I bought a hydraulic press so I could swap steering stems.

Didn't realize that the KZ stem presses out from the top instead of bottom so I bent it. Ordered a new lower triple and its on the way. The 900rr stem is 2mm bigger than the KZ stem so I am going to build up weld on it and have my buddy turn it down to the proper thickness.

Also got my ZRX tail light mounted

As well as my Dyna S pickup

Also picked up things like the igniter, starter relay and regulator/rectifier. Still making steady progress. I am holding off buying anything for the moment. My job situation isn't very steady right now. The property I work on is being sold and the new owners haven't indicated if we will be kept on. Once I know for sure I will be getting back on this.

i just finished a front end conversion over the weekend.
if your buddy can turn stuff might as well have him machine you out a bushing and weld it on.

although sometimes the difference is so small that welding and machining is the best bet.

either way works.just gotta add some material

sometimes i am able to machine the stem of the donor front end out to accept the kz stem thus using the donor stem to create the bushing.
sometimes i use the material from the donor stem to machine out a top bushing if need to close up the hole to fit the kz stem.

ya just gotta get in there and see what it takes to make it work.

keep us posted,
Leon

We looked into making a bushing but it would have only been 1mm thick. We both decided it would be easier to build up weld material and then turn it down. I will have to bore out the 900rr top clamp. The top of the kz stem is the same diameter as the bottom so it won't fit through the top clamp.

I got the engine sprayed in semi gloss black duracoat and back in the frame. Also got the exhaust temporarily put on to see how everything was going to fit.
