so I went back and forth on what all I wanted to do.. I knew I wanted to update forks and rear end to a new or newer style forks, swing arm, wheels and more. so I researched and measured and researched more, and then some more.
I ended up trying a few different front ends till I came across a bike being sold for parts cause it was blown, I took measurements and researched and ended op buying the whole bike for a few hundred.. I got a great deal after seeing what parts sell for.. that bike I bought was a 2006 zx6r.. very happy and lucky I came across this bike on CL.

Wow great work, it's going to look great when finished. I am very jealous on how cheap forks etc are in the US. Over here in the UK they are very expensive.

I got lucky on finding a whole bike for very cheap.. if I would have bought the forks alone, It would have been $500 to $1000 . and I got the whole bike for less then that..

Nice work so far! Have you lost much ground clearance? It looks low with the new suspension.

yeah a bit, but I just have a moc up steel strut right know holding rear up. and that's 13.25" center eye to center eye. then I lifted to be 14.75"
to check everything see how it sat plus figuring rider weight so I ordered air shocks at 14.75" center eye to center eye and I think it will be good..

Lucky you. It's ace when that sort of thing happens. Did the owner not know its value?

Be careful of the chain running over the top of the swingarm with the steeper angle.
