yes, yes. I knew that one was out there, but I couldnt find it, so thanks. I think that is the one. Only problem now is the side covers. I had my heart set on an open middle for a skeleton look. I guess I could cut them off, but it would be a shame to spend all that wedge and then get out the saw. Everything is a compromise and the side covers are not the worst thing in the world.

I do like it

looks good with the GPz tank as well.

anybody know if the ST tank mounts with the little downward facing tang, like the GPz item does? I prefer the ST/MK II tank

Either of those would be very cool, however the 1000R with the lowered fairing looks amazing.

I believe the ST and MKII tanks are different as the frames are quite different. I have bought tanks that were from the supposedly from the same year and model and the mounts didn't line up even though the tanks were identical in every other way. IMHO it can be a crap shoot.

I am starting to wonder about the length of the ZX7 forks. A rough measurement gives 27.5 as opposed to 31. Even IF I were to use a drop triple, that seems like a ton of space to loose. Has to be impossible with the stock ZX top triple.

I know the answer to putting RC51 forks on a VFR involves using a CBR929 top triple to make up the lost length. Anyone used ZX7 forks that can point me in the right direction. (I know ZX9 forks are the preferred example, but I want to rule out the ZX7 item before I press on)

Zx7 forks are too short and there won't be enough room under the engine for the exhaust.
Jacking the back end to compensate as some people do is a big NO and will create dangerous shopping trolley handling that will try to kill you at anything over 80 mph.
You can get or have made some fork extenders that screw in, in place of the fork caps.
These will need to be around 55mm long and incorporate the preload and damping adjusters.
You could have a stepped top yoke made but they do look ugly imo.
There is also some scope to extend them internally by around 30mm which entails lengthening the damper rod.
Details of how I did this to some zx10r forks are in my z900 café project thread.

I agree. I considered attaching the lowers so I could end the bottom where I wanted as opposed to where the split is. I'll have to wait to see where it ends up exactly after I weld a bung on the neck.
