Unfortunately no title for the new bike just bill of sale and statement if fact I'm gonna go talk to DMV Tuesday and see where this one stands but either way I know I'll be able to get a title for the first one . So good news is the black bike had some goodies on it. Steal braided brake lines pod filters, titanium headers with speed trapp muffler plus all the wiring and parts I'll need to finishe the red bike. Also we found that something is in the cylinders preventing the motor from turning all the way on the black bike so I guess I found my motor project haha. We did get the red bike started but not firing on cyl 2&3 still need to trouble shoot just ran out of time tonight.
Sorry for the poor lighting on the video

B) got the back end all buttoned up and brake calipers and braided line on the front but the fun stuff was getting it to fire on all four cylinders turned out to be a bad igniter good thing the black bike had a good one for me :) she sounds beastly with this exhaust not sure what the headers are but they are very light

Some updates...
So after looking into the registration cost of the 81 kz750 (black bike) this will be the bike being built. Finished stripping it down to the frame and looking at getting it powder coated this week. Including the swing arm and rear brake bar. Hopefully soon the assembly will begin with some new parts and get this thing on the road and ready to go for the riding season. However ill more than likely be riding it before winter ends. Being In California we still get days with decent weather.

Let me know what you guys think of the last picture. Possible powder coating I'll do. Different and still neutral color that will go with any color I end up doing on the tank and tail. Would love some suggestions on color schemes let me know what you have done or would like to see. I love the 70's kz900 graphics and colors but in not sure how it will look on this bike.

Update on the build. Should be picking up my powder coated frame, swing arm, center stand very soon. Ordered a few new parts such as; chain, all balls steering bearings, fork seals (installed) and swing arm bearings. Also made some progress on the tank. After lots of ideas and research I plan on doing a bare metal tank, any advice on coating or clear coating to prevent rust and have a nice appearance would be appreciated. Pics are the tanks progress. Still have a little more sanding to do to get the grain on the metal where I want it but loving the appearance thus far. In my previous post I put up a picture of the powder coating it was thinking about and is what I've chosen to do. Should be a good contrast to the bare metal tank.
Last picture is the powder coating that will be on the frame, swingarm and center stand .

Alright got my parts back from powder coating! Turned out awesome!! And just dropped $500 in new parts. Can't wait for assembly. Today I've ordered woodcraft 3-piece split clip ons, Athena engine gasket kit, mushman foot pegs, k&n oil filter, and biltwell Kung fu grips. Still got some more to get but that should be a good start. Any recommendations on tires and tires sizes? Last picture is a tire I have interest in, any thoughts? Running stock forks and swing arm. I ride a lot of canyons and twisty stuff so looking for performance. Trying to keep the tire budget under $300 for the set. Any input would be great. Be sure to follow the build. It's been about four months and I'm finally at assembly time with all the goodies; should be fun!! :)

That powder coat looks like what's on my reloading press; looks good and it's as tough as nails. For tires I recommend Pirelli Sport Demons (see pic below). They stick to the road very well and don't wear out too quickly. I put more than 7,000 miles on my rear tire before replacing it - that's the longest any tire has ever lasted me. Your stock rims take the same size tires as my bike. I recommend 100/90 V 19 for the front and 120/90 V 18 for the rear. Years ago I ran 130/90 V 18 on the rear, but that tire is too wide for the rim and squeezing it on there deforms the cross section of the tire such that it doesn't work any better (maybe not as well) as the 120/90 V 18; plus it's very difficult to mount. Thanks Ed I had forgotten about the sport demons! Consider me pursueded lol. I love how the powder coat came out. Pictures really don't do it justice. Can't wait to get the frame unwrapped and see this thing in the sunlight. Thank you very much on the tire size advice. I kept going back and forth from the 120 and 130. I'll have these tires ordered today :)

That powdercoat does look great. So you did the whole frame plus swingarm? If you don't mind how much did that cost you? Trying to budget out my build.

Thank you, I had the frame, swing arm, and center stand powder coated and they also media blasted a box of parts for me. Totaled out to $460. Which I think is awesome considering the quality of the finish and how much prep work time it saved. Definitely recommend powder coating.

Anybody have any recommendations for fork oil or is it all pretty much the same. I am running progressive springs.

Ok you have removed any doubt i had on doing this type of finish in powder whenever i finish modding my frame. Looks great. If you got your brake component media blasted i would highly recommend painting them with Gun Kote Paint. It is the only paint i know of that is impervious to brake fluid. If your like me and make a mess when you bleed brakes, fear not! it will not damage the paint in any way. keep it up man!
