Figure it's time for another update. Had to put it on the back burner for a bit, but i'm taking two weeks vacation and coming back strong! Got a few parts bikes lined up at the local bike shop for those random misc pieces i'm missing.
So here goes!

Spent too much $ on the tires, so I copped out and used truck bed liner on the tank/tins and side covers. Looks way better than I expected. I pulled off the 'saki logos from the tank and filled it in with metal filler and feathered some bondo to smooth it out.
Got a bunch more parts back from powdercoat. Also went through the wiring harness, cleaned the contacts all up and re-wrapped it.

Slowly but surely guys!

Will presuppose that the exposed head of jet has by now been sufficiently damaged to disallow normal grip with a screwdriver. But if not, would soak with Kroil or other penetrant (such as Liquid Wrench or ATF/acetone mix, etc.) for day or so which might help dislodge the screw.

Yes, it may be drilled out -- best to use a reverse-cut drill bit, and the jet will sometimes come right out while drilling.
Amen. Awful small, could lunch the carb. Be careful.

Yeah, I'm going to have Steve's Cycle in Mesa go over the carbs and tune it when it's all complete and running. They've been extremely helpful to me with this build so far, helping me find the replacement parts and whatnot.
I'm terrible with carbs, wish I could just do a FI swap for cheap  Hard for me to tune one carb let alone four!!

More parts! picked from two different salvage bikes haha. Few more pieces to pick up tomorrow, as well as a fresh battery. Clutch and throttle cables are on their way from Parts Unlimited as well.

I got these turn signals for $30 on ebay for all 4, the quality was surprising, metal housing and everything, i just hope they output enough light.

I couldn't find a good mounting spot for them on the front, so I just drilled through the headlamp bucket clamp where the bucket bolt goes and cut off the nut inside the bucket. Hides the turn signal wires nice, but may make it a PITA to aim the headlamp later, oh well

Just a few more small electrical parts to go, but then gotta save up for some exhaust, freaking expensive for some bent tubes IMHO.

I totally dig your build except for the tail light. Any plans to do something different there?

I may change that out eventually, but for now it works and it kinda fits in.

On another note,

Also, the petcock leaks like a sieve, I will get a rebuild kit, but I also need the replacement o-ring where it mates to the tank, can't tell if it's included in the kit or not, anyone know for sure? Specifically the one from Z1
