I was looking around on the net, and I ran across a photo of Wes Cooley's 1979 Yoshimura GS1000S Superbike. Looks like Yoshimura has been using basically the same type of hand carved 1/4 turn throttle long before the GSXR750 Superbike program like I was told.

So that almost makes my throttle period correct for my Superbike. Now that its down in the 20's here at night in the mountains of Arizona. Its time to send my throttle to my machinist buddy, and get rid of that gap between the two halves of the throttle.

You went to a lot of trouble getting the weight down did you weight it ? if so what does it weight? wet/ dry.
Really curious because most of the gain is from trimming the weight (which I'm sure you have)

I should have the article of John Ulrich on the 79' GS1000 superbike in Cycle world in my paper collection somewhere, if i find it will check if it had it back then indeed....

Last time I had the bike on a scale was back in the mid 80's. With a couple gallons of gas in the tank, and with the charging system in place it weighed in at 440 pounds!!!! I never weighed it in race trim.

Best way to describe the way this bike handles and feels, its like riding a 82/83 GPz550 but with 120 or so horsepower!!!!

I finally got around to listing my spare Bassani Superbike "Do It Yourself Kit" pipe on Ebay. I really hate selling it, but I must. I am not selling it to anyone outside this country. I couldn't see gutting a brand new or a working speedo. So I cut apart a broken speedo. I just set the needle at 120MPH, but it moved a bit over the years!!!! The rule book back then read, the gauges had to be "stock appearing"
