Bingo, that's the one! I have it taped off and tucked back into the harness so it's out of the way for now. There was also a green one with a white stripe that fed from the brake light fail switch. I'm assuming this goes hot if the circuit is tripped? I also capped this off as well and tucked it back into the harness. No issues as of yet.

I didn't get much play time on the bike today, but I did get a new oil filter in, oil is in and topped up, and the sweet vintage Lockhart oil cooler is on :) the second picture is oh where I tucked the ignition. It will be a little tricky (and hot sometimes) to get at, but at least it's out of the way. If I had the engine in the frame when I mocked it up, things would have been better. Oh well.

I spent a bit of time this morning getting the carbs and exhaust on, then fired her up :) I have a bit of a fuel leak, I think from the t that splits right and left carbs, but should be able to get it fixed. I'm so happy it started up after sitting for 2 years :)I still have to tune the carbs, but she runs, and that's the most important thing to me right now :) i'm sorry the video quality isn't better, this was shot on my phone.

Fired the bike up this evening and went to tune the pilot circuit with my Colortune unit. Found out that the 17.5's that I'm running don't let me get quite lean enough on my mix, and it shows on the plugs too. At idle, the cylinders are burning orange (too rich) and carbon load the plugs making them all sooty. So out came the 17.5's, in go the 15's, and I'll make an attempt at tuning the pilot circuit again in the morning.

Lots of passengers step up on the peg and stand on it while getting on. Would that weld take the weight? Just something to look out for before someone start dancing on them :woohoo:

So how was your experience using the color tune? I bought one but haven't got to use it yet. Sounds like it works well.

Troll- the welds on those pegs should be ok, the mount is about 2.5 inches long, and I sealed it off on both sides. They're also higher up than stock, so it would be awkward for someone to try and step up and over on. I'll keep it in mind for sure, and see what people do. I do ride solo 95% of the time though ;)

Kaw- you're going to absolutely LOVE the colortune! It's such a wicked tool. When I was attempting to tune a few years ago, I was taking shots in the dark and had my pilots nowhere near where they needed to be. This way, you get to visually see how hot the cylinder is burning. It's such a cool thing! But make sure the engine is nice and warm (they say 5 minute warm up), and don't run the bike too long with the plug in place. Overall, you'll love the thing. I'm really happy I invested in it :)

Today's update is that I'm just about done putting everything back on. I got the new rear brake line on and bled it, got the front brake sensor bolt in and bled the front, got the chain on, tuned the carbs more (double checked float height, vacuum synced), tightened up all loose bolts, hooked up some wiring, clipped the zip tie end on all electrical, got the tank and seat back on, shortened the shift lever linkage to lift the shift lever itself.

What I did run into at the last step was the chain hitting the sprocket side cover. I'm thinking I'm just going to cut a chunk of it off... any ideas?

One last thing- i'm currently running stock size pilots, and they're still running rich at 2 full turns out. I'm thinking there might be gunk in the system that needs to work it's way out. As far as i know, i should be at a 17.5 pilot sith all the mod work i've done. Thoughts?
