i'm with tri here.
as complete as that bike is i would get it back up in shape with some period mods.

and then,
i would start gathering parts and build that rickman till hell wouldn't have it  .

whatever you decide to do keep us posted.

are you interested in getting rid of the fairing?

Thanks guys,,I'll hang on to the fairing for the time being. I'm going to use the motor in the Rickman frame with some mods to beef it up. I'll keep the rolling chassis in the shed...if I find another decent motor I'll put that in the Rickman and keep this one complete.
The picture in the shed makes it look way better than it is...scabby knickers is my pet name for it! Well abused and put away wet,The clocks are shot, the loom is a horror show...the tank is rusted inside and out. Forks are pitted seals are done. But hey ,it was cheap and I like a project!
On with the show, got some tyres and wheel bearings for it today! Need a week or two off work now..ha! Like that's going to happen?

That thing is very cool,I like those old astralites...the frame looks so much better with the ugly rear frame loops removed.I was going to do that on mine. I got the old tyres and bearings stripped out tonight.taking the wheels to the powdercoaters tomorrow!

This is my race bike, runs in p2 vintage .its an Xs650/750 with welded crank ,rods ,81mm pistons flowed head,4 mm oversize valves. The frame is a Denis Curtis (CMR) built Drixton replica in chromoly tubing. He also built the ally tank and various machined parts. I am a Vrra member up here in Canada and have raced a few events in the US.

Stripped the calipers, nice dual seal in those! Haven't seen that before. Pistons came out without too much grief.
