Under hard acceleration all the oil flows to the back of the engine starving the oil pump. It happened all the time before I went through my pump. It hasn't happened since. For whatever reason the light would come on for a few seconds then go off. I always wanted one.

Cory, you really should be designing this stuff for Ma Kawi yourself. I swear the quality of your work and the level of thought and math put into this is just mind boggling. I went to the Colorado School of Mines of ME and this is still just incredible and way over my head more often than not, thanks for sharing and it has been a joy and pleasure reading and learning with you!

You're very kind to say that, but I am just hobbling along trying to get this thing built!

As far as my oil gate, need to make a slight modification. I tested the pan by filling it with water and sloshing it. Occasionally the door would hang open against the stop I have. It can just open too far over center I think. Going to mod the stop a bit and slosh it again.

I was thinking curve the bolt some so it will open just so much. kinda like a door stop.

Thought about that, but I like removable stuff.....bent M3 screw not easy to remove.

Seems like such a simple idea...I don't understand why they don't make them this way. The only thing I can think of is the stop...and I'm sure you'll figure that out too! I hated drilling into my pan, but at least it never leaked. 8 years and counting....

Oh, I know....you could drill a hole in the pan and run a bolt up vertically for the stop....yeah, that would be great! :blink: :lol:

I was thinking about how I would do that gate. A couple of things came to mind. It looked toe that it could open to wide and not shut. I have two solutions.
1. A spring. Very si ml please in nature, shoped like an obtuse "V" with a circle at the apex for the pin to go through. I would make the 150°. Lightweight so the gate could move it if it had to.




2. Weld a stop on hinge in the center so that when the gate opens it hits the stop at your preferred opening.

Figured it out..... B) Little table band saw action and some gentle persuasion....

Infinitely adjustable as well.... Also thought of another way to solve the pin keeping besides JB Weld, but I am leaving that alone. Will swap out to a much shorter Allen now as well.

my thought was an L bracket under the mounting bolt.

That's what she said...ZINGA! All kidding aside, you're idea was what I was planning, but by the time I started to sketch out what would be left once trimmed down, it made sense to try this.
