Cuff, I have removed the PAIR system. My main jets went from 127.5 to 132.5, but I have not changed my pilot jets. As for idle air mixture screws, I cant find them. They are prob right in front of me. Either way, I think the bike was just upset about not being ridden for 2 weeks. She ran great today.

Here is a pic of the bike with the painted tank.

Sadly, the left cam end cap didnt seal. At least the stator gasket and the rest of the valve cover sealed, including the other 3 cam end caps. Oh well. If I ever decide to paint the engine, then maybe I can try to fix them again.

Oh, and I LOVE the running boards! So comfortable! I have the flat bar and the running boards to keep this bike mellow and comfortable for the ride to work.

The Idle mixture screws will have Anti-Tamper caps, which need to be removed. A small drill, then a self tapping sheet metal screw and a pair of pliers works. 92066 in the drawing.
Turning the screw out will richen the Idle fuel mixture, more than 3-1/2 or so I'd go up a pilot jet size. If there are no vacuum leaks and the carbs are of course clean, with the correct fuel level in the bowls. Use the clear tube test to verify fuel level.

My end cpas failed as well dumping hot oil all down my leg, not fun. If you do them again use some copper rtv silicone, let it sit for a while then mount the valve cover and gasket. You're right about the floor boards, very comfortable, even more so with the police seat and seat springs. ;-)

Looking good though sir, nice paint. What are your plans for the rear section?

Ha, yea, that big seat was just too much for me.

I used red (its the high temp) RTV on the bottom of the end plugs only. I was sparse with it. I might take it apart. It only has 100miles on it, so the gasket should be ok, who knows.

I am gonna do a banana seat on it. Gotta make a seat pan and then get it upholstered.

Your gasket should be fine. Just go slow and use the silicone all the way around the end cap. It helps with holding it in place as well. Your seat idea sounds good as well. lol on the big seat, I need it at 6'-3" and 240lbs.

Ha, I think I am lucky. I was sitting at a stop light just now and looked down, there was a tiny little bubble coming from the bold head. The oil is coming out there and running down. So I am going to let it cool off and then silicone the bolt.

I am tall myself, 6'4" 220. The banana seat should come out sweet. Thinking of going with a light brown leather. Should look pretty sweet with that silver tank. Gonna make a tiny back fender, then paint the fender and the headlight bucket in the silver as well.

Hahahaha, did you really just use bar tape? I was trying to think how I could get brown leather grips. That would look perfect!

Nice! That looks real good. So its funny, since I said that one bolt was leaking, I removed it and put RTV on it, and now it is still leaking along with 2 others. So yea, its coming back apart.
