I love where your bike has gotten!!! I am wanting to do a swingarm swap on my old kz and have the oppurtunitie to get a katana swingarm. I have a few questions for you.

Was there any special fabrication of spacers/bearing adapters to put the swingarm on your bike? Didnt see any technical info on this thread or your swingarm thread.

Also do you know anything about the front end on those katanas? I am looking at getting the front end as well.

Also on the rear wheel, was there any major fabrication required for the wider wheel into the stock swingarm? The bike I am looking at is a 1996 600, so it has the 3.5" rim and I want to be able to get a wider wheel to run a slick (only have seen 7" slicks for a 17" rim) for track trips.

Thanks, no problem.

The swing arm is pretty easy. The stock KZ pivot bolt and sleeve fit it perfectly, no adapters needed. The KZ dust caps even fit it. It is a bit to wide, so you have to cut about 1/16 or 1/4" of each side. I just used a bench grinder.

It's pretty close to a bolt on deal, as far as swing arm swaps go. It is 4" longer than the stock KZ arm.

My rim is the 4.5" off a 98 750. 90-96 only 750's have the 4.5" wheel with swept spokes. I think 98-03 are all straight spoke 4.5" wide, even the 600's.

Just try to get the spacers, cush hub, and caliper bracket that go with the wheel, the swingarms are the same on a 96 and a 98-03.

I am running a 5/8" offset 530 front sprocket from PBI. Plenty of clearance between the chain and the frame on my bike. Lines up with the stock Kat rear sprocket fine.

As for the front end, I think the katana front forks only require a set of conversion bearings to run them. That should be pretty easy, I am not sure which bearings you need though. All Balls should have something.

Thanks! I don't think we can get it much lower without going to a hard tail.

I have a slimmer tailight coming though, to we'll see.

lookin at your bike i just thought about your front tire contacting your header on hard front braking. where it dives enough to really compress the front end.
you may have already checked,but that is something to make sure you can clear.unexpeted front brake usually ends up with a face plant.

just sayin' :pinch: .

it looks kicka$$.
