Good stuff! This is better than watching one of these "How did they do that" science shows. :cheer:

Thanks for sharing this project with us.

Best of success! :)

Nice work!

So, did that head take long time to blast...I think its a nightmare because of the cooling fins, reaching between.. And even worse to paint.

Which paint are you using on the head, or are you polishing?

Not painting it, just leaving it bare.

The real nightmare of blasting the head was that I was doing it outside. I felt a couple of raindrops on my shoulders, then the sky opened up! I quickly dragged the operation under an awning, a leaky one at that. I couldn't really see what I was doing, either, but somehow managed not to bollocks it up...

I cut the aluminum tubing to make the seat support, still need to trim and paint and line up the fasteners for this. I'm planning to use U bolts around the frame tubes and up through the bottom set of aluminum tubes, then bolt the other aluminum tubes to the seat, then bolt all the tubes together.

Yes, it's a series of tubes.

Maybe tomorrow I'll bondo the seat. I need to get some more sandpaper, though...

Rain...I know everything about it, as my town is number one in that.

Looking forward to see your bike done, like that battery mod, and rear end. :woohoo:

Thanks, man! Yeah, it's a lot of work and some rework as I feel my way along.

I just figured out that it's to cost me $100 for my rear lighting setup! Hahahaha!

$40 pair of round red 20 LED stop/turn/tail lights
$20 electronic flasher
$20 integrator
$20 LED tag bolts

Tonight I started prepping this aluminum sheet to cut and use under the seat to mount the electronics to.

My new tail lights arrived today! The rear of the tail piece is about 8.5" wide, and these lights are about 4.25" in diameter, so they'll just fit. They're made for school buses so they should be uber bright. I actually considered using a single 7" tail light with separate turn signals, but that would have been too cartoonish...

It was made by Airtech Streamlining, but it doesn't show up on their website. It looks pretty similar to the tail from an old homologation special GSX-R.

These lights are huge:

I've decided to make a hugger fender for the rear, instead of using the stock inner fender:

I actually had a pretty productive evening:
