1977 KZ650B The Year of the Dragon

Here is another project I'm working on. I need to come up with some neat looking mounts that match my bike? I'll come up with something. I once saw an old Corvette that had a wooden luggage rack on the back and I thought that would look nice on my old Kaw

so what do I have to do to get my grubby paws on some of those brass levers?

i myself am a South Bend man for the old iron, and a bridgeport for the CNC stuff.

I have a 13" X 60" LeBlond made in 1935 and a 9" X 36" SB made in 1927. For the mill work I bought a small Enco knee mill. Just starting to get into CNC (Work bought one and I get to learn how to run it) I also have a couple welders a couple Bandsaws and a home Foundry settup:) It all keeps me pretty busy.

I drilled and tapped those holes and the cap bolted right up. I must have done something right. Here is a quick picture. I still need to polish everything up and have the glass cut. Hope you like the picture:o)

Thanks for the compliment Scumbag;) I have a piece of glass being cut for it now. I'll try to get it polished up this weekend? I have a bunch going on though.

I'm kinda disappointed with my gas cap.... I tried to fix it and it's worse now than when I started?????? I'm going to take a hole saw to it and start over. Hopefully my next attempt will be better?

I'm still waiting on the glass for my clutch cover, but I did some more work on my bike this weekend. I did the WG's coil mod and added a electronic ignition from a KZ750. I only had 10 volts at my coils. It sure made a big difference. It runs smoother at idle and during acceleration My next addition is Dyna coils from my free KZ750 donor bike and new 8mm suppression core wires.

I've been in the metalworking trade for 14 years now. When I started there weren't many interested in teaching people about it. I went to college and received an associates degree in machine technology. After 2 years of hard work going through school I realized the first week on my new job that I didn't know shit. I still read every book I can get my hands on on the subject. It has taken a few more years to get where I feel comfortable doing some of this stuff. I realize that sometimes I make mistakes and I have became less afraid of them because I have gained the knowledge to repair them;) I appreciate your comments and it makes me feel good that people feel this way about the work that I do.
