Thanks Mark(s) - I appreciate the kudos from a pro :)

By adding more plates you're actually reducing the back-pressure, and letting the gasses expand more before leaving the pipes - increasing the top-end power. It becomes more like a straight-through pipe than it is now.

Without the plates at all, it sounds hella mean, and goes like stink :evil: - but there's very little low end, unfortunately. :( By very little - I mean I can still accelerate nicely, it just doesn't pull as well til you hit the sweet-spot around 6500rpm.

I've gotta add some plates back in I think though, cause I got smoked by a Chrysler Seabring yesterday :pinch:

She needs a pro tune-up though, so maybe that's it. ;)
