Don’t sweat the intank filter to much. Worst come to worst and I’d do it away is to put an inline filter in between the petcock and carbs

650ed has information on one he highly recommends.... Ed? Your up.

Also that little screen filter is damaged ya thing it should be replaced because all the rebuild kits don’t have the screen.

If you need a filter screen, i have a spare one. PM me and you will get the filter for the shipping costs (5 Euro).
BTW, i add a little round Neodym magnet into the petcock bowl bottom, (under the filter Screen), to catch rust particels, just a hint....

I don't know if the Yamaha screen fits (see link below), but it's worth making the phone call to find out. Ed

Ah! The Golan inline fuel filter is great! It is not cheap, but the screen inside it can easily be cleaned so the filter will last forever. Oh, and nothing on it is plastic. I use the Golan Super Mini 5/16" fuel filter; see “70-312G 5/16 Barbed Fittings". It is small enough to fit under the tank with no problems. I used the squeeze type clamps to mount it. I found that the squeeze type clamps are much better that the screw type. Also, I used Goodyear 5/16" Fuel Hose SAE 30R7 (required 8") Part # 65123. Do not waste your time and money using is Gates Barricade fuel line. It has an inner sleeve that rolls up like a loose sock and clogs the line when you install it. Ed
