Just making this post to be one of the first two post to begin posting around. I was gifted a 79 KZ650 D2 that has around 5000 miles on it. Engine has fantastic compression, wiring harness has been chopped up, and a paint job not to my taste. Plans to turn it into a vintage track day bike. So I'll be lurking around for parts and some insight around the forums (digital lap timer/speedometer, need a seat, side covers, rebuild the forks, replace the shocks with more adjustable shocks, etc.) About me I'm a helicopter pilot and aircraft mechanic for a living, used to race WERA South East, and have lost count on how many track days I've done over the years. Anyways see you all around.

Welcome to the forum. I have recently been considering building a bike for WERA vintage. Are you going to be racing at all or just track days? Ps. pics make the world go round.

First I'll do some test on the bike at a few track days and possibly looking into racing it in 2022. This winter will be all about building it and testing it next summer. Photos do make the world go around, but I have to pick the bike up first next weekend. Consider it a tease!
