Here is the main pivot/attachment point, I should not that I have removed this bracket to use for the custom seat I am building though. Sorry for the delayed response...

Yeah, that shot's a little too tight, although it already tells me something- that pan is toast. If there's cancer on the edge, the body isn't far behind. Also, the hinge type, although you mention it coming from a G, is more like the style they used on the B in the late 70s.

Take a shot of the WHOLE underside, if you could- I hate to keep asking for favors, but while getting a pan is good, as Gomer said, you want to be sure it'll work with the frame.

My guess is it looks something like this: images.motosmart.com/pxl/1050/105063_06_xl.jpg , which will preclude using it on my frame. The drop behind the tank and bump-up under the seat on the M frame (thumbs4.ebaystatic.com/d/l225/m/m5nsGiKs7MK7HhyZAZ4d9pQ.jpg) plays all sorts of hell with finding the right fit!

Thanks again,
Nick

That's an interesting bump in the frame. I had to go back to a photo before I bobbed the tail to look, mine isn't that style... The pan is decently solid except the edge, you'll have to overlook the acorns under the seat in the photo, the bike was behind my garage the last 10 years awaiting work...

So, to answer my own question from the subject line, "A LOT." Okay. Yeah, that isn't going to work. Since the K and M had the 'cruiser' frame, which dropped behind the tank rather than continuing on straight like yours does, that seat is not gonna work for me. Stupid Kawasaki, make me look bad. :)

I do REALLY appreciate your helping me out and working with me with pics and whatnot, that's very cool. Sorry we can't make a deal, but at this point, while I was all hot-n-bothered to make ANYTHING work earlier this thread, now that the season is over and I've been sitting on a plywood plank for so long, I can muddle thru the winter trying to find or make something a little closer to my current predicament.

Thanks again!
Nick

(P.S.- No worries about the acorns n fuzz, we get the same thing here. I hate mice, always eating my air filters and chewing on wires.)

Mine actually does drop behind the tank, so maybe a G would work?

You know, what the heck, I'll try it. If nothing else, I can patch that pan together and resell it on CL or something. What do you want for it?

Whoa, I noticed there was a snake skin shedding in there. Probably came in to eat the squirrels or whatever left the acorns.

I saw that too. I would guess it was probably mice; they're especially pernicious when it comes to hiding stuff in and living in and around motorcycles, as well as cars in storage.

I'm not interested in profiting off of it, maybe enough to cover shipping charges and a six pack of something frosty and it's yours

That's certainly doable. PM me with your address if you want a postal MO, or your Paypal ID if you prefer that. My zip is 65702, so you can figure shipping.
