Have a drum mag I am thinking of putting on to replace a spoke wheel. Just not sure if I will like the looks of a mixed set.

I think it can look pretty cool, but it definitely gives it the unpolished racer look. I think its pretty specific to the bike and the state it is in, if its real clean and relatively stock, maybe not. Here is one of my all time favorite H2s that a Dr. Gamma built "back in the day"

Whenever I see mixed wheels it gives me the impression that the bike was wrecked, the front wheel was damaged, and the owner could not find the correct wheel as a replacement. Ed

mismatched wheels on custom bikes is a big bugbear of mine, always seems unfinished and a bit difficult to justify any technical reason for doing it.

I know spoked wheels have their own advantages, but for a road or race bike I'd prefer mags.

I used 18' zx750 3 spoke mag wheels with big 280mm 750 turbo/1100B2 discs, gives 1100R rim sizes and looks like a period modification that might have been done back in the day.

Hey Z King, these front rims are so cheap on ebay, just buy a 19" front mag wheel on ebay. A lot of time they come with a nice tire also. Got to have a matched set IMO. Don't forget to search smaller KZ's like KZ 650, KZ 750 etc.
How about Brian from down state New York. He sells all the good stuff!
But if $$ is issue. Do what you have to do. Cut some aluminum discs , like for drag racing christmas tree lights.
Put 1 on both sides. Find some cheap aluminum some where like these. 19" stock wheel!
Livin in "CheektaVegas, NY
Went thru 25 of these in 40 yrs.
I SOLD OUT! THE KAW BARN IS EMPTY.
More room for The Old Girl, Harley 75 FLH Electra Glide,
Old faithful! Points ign. Bendix Orig. carb.
Starts everytime!

I wonder what solid rims feel like with a fluctuating 35 mph side wind at 80 mph :woohoo:

Well I have the wheel and a new sprocket so I am going to give it a try. Time for a new tire anyhow and I tend to burn them up quick so may as well give it a go.
