will a zrx swing arm fit a kz?

ok heres the deal, i just bought a kz550 and 2 kz1000 chasis last week for $300. they were all sitting in a storage unit for over 10 years and now im gonna build up the 1000s. i want to put 17in wheels on 1 of the bikes and i know the zrx's are pretty close bikes so im wanted to know if they did bolt up easily without to many mods. any help or advice id appreciate it.

Yes it is very close in fit. You need to narrow down the pivot a bit, and make a bushing for the pivot as the ZRX pivot bolt is much larger than the KZ mounting hole.

Several people have mounted them, I just put one on my 77 1000 last week

thanks for the info. that is a nice look to it. im kinda new to building the kz's but a lot of you guys on here do have some really trick looking stuff, i cant wait to get going on mine

here is the bushing, or sleeve that i had made up.

i relocated the top shock mount to the more forward spot that can be seen in the pic below. this gave the shocks the intended geometry ,and softend the ride nicely.

76 KZ, frame gusset work,1200CC.Ported by Larry Cavanaugh, 1.5mm.over intakes, Carron Pipe, ZRX12 rear end, and seat,96zx9 front end.

yeah i definitly notice you guys do alot of different stuff with these bikes. i just gotta start getting parts together and start building.
