Even routing it the shortest way to the new angled spark plug cap I have, the wire just allows the cap to screw into it. Not banjo string tight but hardly any play with the wire.
A cheap and easy way to repair this I think, would be using a short sharpened finishing nail and driving one side into the stock wire leaving the coil about an inch from the coil. Then attach a new section of solid core copper wire to other side of the finishing nail in the additional length that I need. Then use some shrink wrap to insulate the joining wire ends.
Good idea or Bad idea ?
Or is using the NGK spark plug wire splice better ?
Upon completion of the shrink-wrapping, could test for high tension voltage leakage through the splice by gripping the shrink-wrap with naked fingers where the wires join and revving the engine to say 4000-5000 rpm.
Good Fortune!
