That's what The Old Kaw Man sent me with a used Reg/Rect two years ago. Crude but it gets the point across.

I've done plan drawings and worked with schematics all my life. Mine would be a little neater than that. Got to give him credit, he laid it out so a child could do it.

Credit due, absolutely. The whole idea of pictorals is to make the layout and circuit super simple.

Well after another 2 1/2 weeks of riding, I pulled my battery out and again this morning and the water level is about +1" below the lowest line and it took many ounces of distilled water to get it in the middle zone.
This is the third time this season now and it was a new battery in May.
So I guess it's time for me to also suck it up and work out a new rectifier/regulator.
That 14.5v to 14.9v at 3,500 - 4,000rpm is too much and just boiling the water right out of this thing.

Before you buy another regulator take a look in the Kawasaki Service Manual to see if there is a way to adjust the regulator you have. My 1977 KZ650-C1 has a separate rectifier and regulator, and on mine the regulator can be adjusted to increase or decrease the voltage. Yours might be different, but it's worth checking. Ed

It's been a long hot summer. I'm not sure a sealed battery would be any better. Maybe the Reg/Rect. Can you try the one on the other bike?

The rectifier is the open frame type with the diode stack.
Not sure if this is the original Vreg or not.

I still do not understand why every photo from my phone turns upside down here.
