Ok, ended up drilling out an old cheap ratchet handle to get the ball, found the right size e clips at Napa auto parts. Put it all together and the bike starts and idles beautifully. Haven't had time to ride it yet and the brakes aren't great but maybe later today.

I don't get it. Damn bike ran great all day, I must have fired it up 6 times. Go out to ride it and it runs for a minute and then dies, won't restart. Bowls full of gas, has spark. Catches once in a while and will idle but dies as soon as throttle is opened or just stalls on its own. Tired of looking at it at this point, plus it's about 90 degrees in the shade and I've sweated out at least a quart of fluids.

Wondering if there's something plugging a main jet or something like that...but idk what, has new petcock with screens intact and a new inline fuel filter.

I've had ignition switches do that. Bad contacts etc.

What shape is the inside of the gas tank? I know that new filters are on but do they get everything. I would guess you have to pull the carbs again and take a look. I would try a little shot of starting fluid or some gas in the carbs and see if she fires. If she does well then back to cleaning the carbs.

Even taking the PODS off and putting your hand over the carb inlet might get it going again. Just a thought.

Tank has had a kreem kit or something of the like done on it, and they actually did a decent job of that. I'm starting to suspect that the fuel line isn't actually fuel line and that it's degrading and ending up inside the carbs. Will pull them later and see if my jets are gunked up. Busy now preparing the house and yard for a huge party I put on every year.
