Hi all. I'm new here.

I picked up this '83 as a project. Its nearly complete and not bad shape, and low miles.

The airbox seems to be missing some parts. Off to ebay I go. Are those little tiny triangular filters on the back corners of the airbox all it has? Holy crap that seems inadequate?

I yanked the carbs today and they aren't too bad, but I'm wondering about these little plugs in the carbs. Should they fit snug in the holes? They basically fall out, which doesn't make sense. The jet underneath it was plugged on two of four. All other jets clean. Most of the o-rings are pretty stiff.

I'll chedk out Z1 enterprises for parts soon.

Thanks!

I ordered 4 carb kits from Z1. Hopefully it includes that little o-ring.
The previous owner found the missing airbox parts for me too.

Carb kits suck. All full of inferior brass. You would be better off reusing the stock jets and getting new o rings

+1 If the original metal parts haven't been physically mutilated by a previous owner why replace them? Ed

Good point. Mostly because its one way, although an expensive one, to find all the right o-rings.
I'll plan to re-use the stock jets.

No eBay APP ID and/or Cert ID defined in Kunena configurationI got tired of the high price of OEM o-rings and trying to hunt them down. So I bought this set on eBay and now have a lifetime supply:

Over the past 6 months I've used o-rings from this set about a dozen times. But I work on a lot of bikes. What convinced me to buy the o-ring assortment was tracking down an o-ring where I needed 2 of them and they were about $9 each. So this kit paid for itself on the first use.
Don't fix it until it's broken.

Most O rings I get from my local auto parts store. Some I can get at the local ACE. The carb O rings I get from jetsRus as long as I have other things to buy to off set the $7 handling charge. I find the kits rarely have what I need.

Well the K&L rebuild kits provided little value other than the bowl o-ring and a couple other o-rings. I guess i used their bowl screws.

I bought an o-ring kit off Amazon and used that for the fuel connections and the plastic plugs in the bowls. The KL ones were way too big for the plugs and it didn't have any for the fuel connections.

I got the float levels set on the bench with a clear tube, ~6mm below the bowl / body seam. Checked the valve clearances, all in spec but a lot were on the edge. Good enough for now till I make sure there are no other problems.

I thought the battery was taking a charge, but it appears its junk, so this morning I'll run to town and get a new one. Hopefully it fires up and I'll sync the carbs and give it an oil change.

Once its running and has no apparent major problems, I'll order up tires and fork seals, and probably dismantle the rear suspension and steering head for a good greasing.

I don't know why I've been dragging my feet buying O rings from JRU. I've been living with a couple buggered up air bleed screws and the O rings are gone.

$31.49 and I can cross off another undone from my list. What a dog head.
