Question guys. I added a Oil Pressure gauge to my KZP1000. I have yet to see any oil pressure at the gauge at all. My oil has been recently changed and the oil level is correct. I pulled the gauge back off to make sure that the fitting was not blocked internally. Still no pressure. Out of curiosity, what would be the expected oil pressure?

P.S., I finally finished the ZX636 swingarm, rear wheel and 180 tire swap on my copbike1000. Pics to follow. VERY happy with the final product!

Thanks, Daniel

What are the calibrations on your oil pressure gauge? The KZ1000 normally runs with extremely low oil pressure, so if your gauge is not VERY finely calibrated the pressure may not show on it. According to the Kawasaki Service Manual the normal oil pressure for the KZ1000 at 3,000 rpm with the oil at 140 degrees F is a mere 2.8 psi. That really is quite low compared to most engines I'm familiar with. Ed

A 15 lb fuel pressure gauge works quite well for me on my 900 and my buddies 1000 too.

I bought two Doremi oil pressure gauges. Blew both. I now run a Sportster gauge that goes up to 60 PSI. I reworked my oil pump and on cold start up it can go up to 30 on high rev.

Thank you guys. Guess my Ebay 100 lb. gauge is not gonna cut it. Looks sweet but does not work worth a $h-t. I'll shop around for the correct gauge.

The Sportster one cost me $15. It has a plastic bezel. It's already turning yellow. 60 PSI is what you want if you're going to beef up your oil pressure. I kept one for the sexy hookup.
