Z1 Enterprises website
03 Dec 2015 19:24 - 04 Dec 2015 05:03
I guess they have changed it to some other name
Looks like the shopping cart isn't working though and they killed all my "waiting to buy" items in the shopping cart.

Yeah, the old Z1 site is where my shopping cart was dumped.....
I'm still looking for a couple 2.20 and 2.25 29mm shims.
I had bought these 29mm shims off the old website earlier this summer and was waiting to pickup a couple other small parts before ordering more.... snooze ya loose.

Both are good companies. Z1 Enterprises has more parts, especially engine parts. Z1Parts is mostly bodywork, decals, clutch and brake levers.
Z1Parts is having a 15% off sale now. Use this code: "3 days only" it's good until 12/7/15.

Anyhow... still am not sure why my shopping cart on Z1 Enterprise, Inc was emptied and I need a few 29mm shims for the old KZ1000 to get them perfect.... but I really don't think they should be costing $9.00 to $12.00 each!! LOL

Call up a couple of Kawasaki dealers in you area. Ask to talk to the service department, not the parts counter. Ask them if they sell shims (usually with the exchange for your old shims). May charge you anywhere from $2.00 to $5.00 per shim. Or in my case, the guys just traded them free of charge. These dealers really don't use the 29mm anymore since the modern bikes use different size. So in my case, they just had them sitting around. An old school shop, unlike the dealer, will of course still have a need for them. One suggestion if you do go this route. Take a digital caliper with you to measure the diameter and thickness. Since I was given 29.5 Suzuki shims by mistake. Hart to see the size difference between the two. Also, the thickness is printed on the back of the shim is not always easily visible. The caliper helps.
Old Yamahas and BMW's also use the 29 mm shims. So can always try those dealers as well.

Ford taurus SHO used the shims as well.
Seems z1e is just having site issues. They were outta town a few weeks, so things may have been askew when they came back

I've read that the SHO shims come in smaller steps then the .5 the kaw. shims do
as in you need a 22.3 and so on.

The times I reshimmed an SHO, I just called up kawasaki... They got them faster Ford gave me the duhurrr treatment. BUT they showed more sizes that kaw doesn't.
