i'm pretty sure the last rear drum brake used on the big 4 bikes was 1976.bluezbike wrote: Along with the different seat and bars already mentioned....77/78 Standards came with a larger (to my mind nicer) tank, wire wheels with single front disc as stock, most came with drum rear brake and some with rear disc brake......LTDs had alloy wheels with dual front discs and rear disc stock, smaller tank, no center stand, shorter front fender....and very strangely was rated with 2 more hp....I still haven't figured out where that comes from
From 1977' on they used disc front and back.
The LTD bikes have a slightly different tank with the rear of the tank a tiny bit more vertical so the LTD seat fits better but seats and tanks are interchangeable.
