Hey Dom, I am unsure how I missed this until now but did you cut off your header at just before the 'h' before putting on your new exhaust? The bike is sitting nice! I'm just curious if you have had to change anything to run this way. I haven't cut mine yet...

I had a set of MAC pipes off of my other 440. I cut the stock pipes right before the collector. This made them identical to the MAC headers. I do want to extend them a few inches so I can have a more stock look, but I need to find someone who knows how to weld first.

I gotcha now! I'm real curious what the bike would sound like with those short headers and shorty exhaust!

Project is dead in the water. Got everything assembled today. It fired up, idled fine. I let it run a few minutes, then let it sit, then let it run for a bit more.

When it was good and warm, I took it down the street, then the engine locked up. I have no idea what is wrong now.

So, after messing with the bike, the engine would crank, then hit a spot where it would freeze up...

I started hand crank it, but like a dumbass I broke nipple on the crank. I think I have the right part circled. How hard or difficult is it to replace?

I might have to set this bike on the back burner for a bit, I'm getting burnt out on it.

Hey Dom,

Know I am kinda digging up an older thread but wanted to say nice job on the 440, I have one and loving mine. I have the stock buckhorn bars though and really not a fan. What are the bars you had on it before you changed over to the clubman? Thats exactly what I have been thinking of and wanting. Do you still have them and might they be for sale or anything, or can point me in the right direction? Love the sound of the Mac pipes, thanks for posting up those videos!!!

Hey thanks, sadly my engine rebuild didn't go so good, but hopefully, I'll get back at it soon. I recently moved and just haven't had time or energy to work on the 440.

I put the bars that were on the 440 on my 750. They are bikemaster superbike bars. You can find them on amazon for like $20.

sucks about your motor. That's frustrating as hell.

if you're in the San Diego area, I can help you out with that. wouldn't even need your bike, can just mock it up on my 440. :cheer:

I have an extra sitting in the garage so an engine swap should get me back on track when I find the energy.

I'm located right in the middle of Kansas, a bit far from San Diego lol.
