And the culprit was:

Everything else checked out. I tapped the two leads going to the control box together many times and the signals cancelled.
Any one have a lead on one of these?
There is a new one in New Zealand.

Nice. I'm glad you found it. I can't tell from the photo why it failed. Is the magnet or shaft damaged? If the reed switch is damaged, you can fix that pretty easily.

Any one have a lead on one of these?


I have at least one spare I can sell if you need it.

The magnet disintegrated.

I received my switch from New Zealand. And I bought one from Fleabay too.

But I hit a snag with my rims. I sent them out to Carcone's for refinishing but they came back saying they were too out of round to put on their machine. I measured them on my stand and found only 0.010" run out. Looks like I'll be doing them myself.

What type of refinishing are you planning to do? Are you going to remachine the outside rim and lip?

I have a front wheel that some monkeys took a sanding wheel to and removed all of the machining marks, specifically the radial grooves on the spoke face. I'm curious if it would be possible for someone to put those machining marks back. But it seems like they would need to have a CNC pattern for the profile of the spoke face. That sounds complicated...

I am not sure yet. Will keep you posted.

Well, I had my rims soda blasted.

The soda blasting didn't remove the machined finish so a bit of Autosol and some paint and...
