My manual reads it mounts on the front mounting bolts of the ignition coils.install the resistor so that the leads are toward the front side.

Thanks for the offer but the sticker is long gone and my picture of it is not very clear.

I'd be happy to provide pictures of mine to use as a reference. I assume it wouldn't be too hard to change the frame number to match your frame... Plus, I need a reproduction sticker too. :)

Do you have any pictures of your original sticker that show the build date for your frame?

I've seen folks mention buying reproductions of these stickers with all of the correct info. Using a good reproduction seems much easier than working hard to refinish every inch of the frame except that little bit under the factory sticker. :)

I dug up this post that has a link to someone who makes reproductions:

I contacted the company at this link and he seems positive about being able to reproduce my sticker.
I will post about how it goes.

I am working on the hand controls right now.
Can anyone help with the correct colour? Is it a satin or gloss black?
Also, can anyone help with turn signal auto/manual switch? My switch stalk is broken and the knob is missing.

The original finish is not super high gloss. The picture below shows a new old stock control for the KZ650-C1. Ed

Airbrush artists use a masking material called "frisket" it is transparent & easily removable...it would be a simple matter to mask off sticker prior to paint...no help for powdercoating though...simple masking tape would work fine, but, not being transparent, it would be a little more difficult to trim with x-acto knife to conform to edges of sticker...Actually clear shelf paper would work if no art supply stores local!
