not a bad piece of ingenuity, but I fear the small rear tank mount that you've Hung off of won't hold up. Better re-do the mount there, something able to take the leverage and weight.

There's actually a second larger bolt under the tank where you can't see it. The tank bolt really just prevents lateral movement rather then the leverage part.

Hey all,

Been a long time since I've updated this thread. Been working on electronics alot, re-fiting that PVC airbox, re-wiring the controls, and boltin on some signals n lights. Got the new pipes welded on there. Had a problem with firing for a while but got that worked out. Was recieving too much air. So still works on original carb settings after putting a washer in the muffler to create some back pressure. Really startin to bring it home now in the last stretch of the project.

Really hated all that non-sense police crap... Threw a 2nd kill switch which goes in the gusseting on left side near where the tank bolts up. Tank hides it nicely, but still accessible.

Signals tucked in under leaf spring seat.

Just shot it with some black really quick. Will be doing a more "official" job later down the road.

More pics to come later.

I've been away from bein able to make any serious progress on this machine. Finally something "worthy" posting. She's not 100% yet, and I'll always find reasons to work on her. But for now, it's only a day or two away from being road ready.

nice and clean.

looks good.

i gotta tell ya tho.
i have seen struts that were thicker than yours fold up and bend into the wheel and clean out all the spokes, which dropped the bike down and drug the frame.it was at around 40 mph or so so the guy rode it out and didn't wreck.

every bump is trying to bend your struts in half  .

some round tubing will resist the bending forces better than solid stock.

Thanks Leon. It's something I kind of always looked at over n over again. I think I may take apart the old shocks and use the innards for the strut.

i just hate to see something go wrong.

I'll bet it's 1 1/2" cause that's what I just used to make mine...

This is my breather cover. I tried the front facing filter, but it wasn't comfortable and in the way so I came up with this. It's now flat black, but this is in primer...

That's beast. Now I'm going to do exactly what you did on your except i'm going to extend the air filter forward about another 6 or 8 inches forward. Did you have to up your jet sizes at all??

I had already upped the jet size with a stage 3 kit. I had individual cone filters on it before doing this. I think I used the .155 mains. The kit came with .155 and .160. The .160 were a little too much so I went back with the .155. It still needs some tuning, but it runs better with this setup than the cone filters.

Holy cra...! Those PVC intakes are sumthin' else! I like the idea but, I have to be a bit skeptical of how well it will run... All 4 carbs sucking thru 1 tube the same size? Or 2 on the other design. Seems likely to produce good low rpm torque and starve for air at high rpm or wide open throttle.. just guessing. Interested to hear more.
