Ok,
Going to try to post some pics of my 77 that I picked up this summer for $150. This is after I cleaned and wiped it down. Gray tank is one I bought afterwards.
The side cover is 4 coats of Blue Metalflake rattlecan, and 5 coats of clear. Tail is in process of paint, and I am bidding on a left cover...

I will post more if this works
Uh, this is wrong pic. This is further into the work...

Ugly huh? Not sure what that rack is for, but it was first to go. Then the seat, and stripped the tank.

Finished polishing the grab bars yesterday and plated them today

The other grab bar...borrowed the turns from the 1000..gotta find some nicer ones

Thanks for the compliments. The carbs took about 6 hours of my time between home and at work. It's great working for a plating company at times like these. I can polish the aluminum, and plate the steel on company time..life is great:woohoo:
Yes, it is a B1
Spot, that fridge rack has been modified to fit the shocks. If you are still interested, PM me and I will send you pics.
I'm trying to get this done soon so I can start on the 79 1000. But with the winters here, it might be spring before I get to that one. I do have good start on it though.
later...

Only a few things left, like painting the tank, polishing and installing airbox (am losing those nasty Uni's). I'm also getting new rear turns.
I got the LTD seat for under $50, but I'm thinking about going back to the OEM style if I can find a good deal.
I've been seeing alot of postings on the Coil mods, and Balls-v-Rollers lately and I'm considering doing both.
I was hoping to been able to finish this last fall, as I was hoping to work on the 79 1000 this winter.
Looks like I know what next winter will bring:laugh:
I will post more pics as things progressB)
I chromed the side stand as well, but yet to install it...hmmmmm something to do tomorrow if temperature permits.

You're making GREAT progress!! Did you consider rechroming the turn signals instead of getting new (or were they badly pitted?)? Ed

The are not expensive to replace, it would probably be more trouble than its worth to rechrome them.

I thought about re-chroming the turns, but they are pitted and not worth the time. Z1 has them for a little over $21 each, so I'll probably go that route.

Pic of the side stand..I ground off the casting marks to give it a more round and smooth appearance

Next is the handlebar clamps that I polished.
This stuff to go on tomorrow:)
