I would anyway. Really I don't understand the fobia about spliitng an engine case. It is not that freakin difficult, and there are no "mystical" skills required. Re-assebly requires a torqe wrench and some Honda Bond to glue it back together.
I would take to opportunity to plastigauge the crank and rods, inspect your shift forks, and replace all the seals to prevent leaks down the road. If yuor going through the time and expense to redo the top end you might as well protect that investment by inspecting the lower internals. And when your done you will have a "new" engine.
