Just about finished installing my Maier rummy GPz screen. Not sure if I 100% like it...

I'll stop using my cell phone lol...

Welcome Max.
Great looking ride.
You'll like the fairing once you hit higher speeds.
The wind against your upper body can be tiring.

What did that little fairing cost, and where did you get it, if you do not mine me asking. I am looking for something similar for my 440, mainly to help keep rain off a radio. I love the bike, and that pipe looks real nice.
I shall be telling this with a sigh
Somewhere ages and ages hence:
Two roads diverged in a wood, and I—
I took the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference.

Super nice bike. Where did you get the pipe from? I'm doing some upgrades to mine this winter and the exhaust is junk so been looking for new option.

Thanks Wildman. It came from webike out of Japan. Look at the 400, 500 & 550cc four cylinder Kawis, as there are a several KZ550 like models. I think mine was sold as for the Z400. They have the wrong bike pictured, but the headers all show on a KZ500 like bike. They show a lot of headers that are pretty cool. Buy 'em up folks! My Yosh pipe might of been the second to last, whatever that means.

Thanks for the heads up. I have been looking at pipes on there. They are a little pricey but we do not have much options for our bikes.

CPL, its a Maier brand Sport fairing - I ebayed it. It is for a 7" headlight. I got it for under a $150, but I have seen varying prices.
Remember, being 'universal' means it fits nothing. I thought it would be a bolt up, but I had to dremel the turn signal cutouts and the underside of the chin. I have yet to finish the install as it has some funky little forks to attach to the headlight ears. Tight around the handlebar fittings also - I lucked out it did not interfere too much. ...Just takes a little time.

One issue I have with the Mair GP sport fairing is its a poor copy. The round headlight is ok, but the screen is not cut as original (not that it has to be).
I will use an old members bike for comparison, Scott19. Here is his bike and then the Maier fairing.
I would like to duplicate the cut on top of the screen on my Maier fairing to be as the GPz fairing is.
****What I need is an old thrashed screen someone could loan me or sell. I could return it if needed.****
Here they is...

And I just scored an old thrashed GPz twin shock windscreeen, cheap. Just to trim the Maier windscreen to match stock, whew. :)

Should I continue this thread in projects just for bolting on and refreshing the bike?

When I pulled my stock rear fender, and bolted up my Japanese tail tidy, that leaves a hole underseat for splash to come up.
I found a nice sheet of plastic and cut & heat molded myself a new underseat fender. Viola.
Changed oil (pulled pipe), and put in my fresh Yosh exhaust gaskets.
Carbs are clear and don't need any work after sitting for several years now.
Runs like a dream. Smooth and a very nice Yosh howl.

Nice compressible Yosh exhaust gaskets...

So my Maier windscreen is shaped like this...

I just received my used GPz windscreen, which looks like this.

Unless the screen bolt holes happen to line up (I would guess they don't), I will use the GPz screen for a template to get the same shape on the Maier screen.

Can't wait to grind some rice! Come on spring.

Thanks Peter, but don't hold your breath! As I had a '81 KZ550 from new back when, which I had an absolute good time on, leads me to hang onto this bike.
I've put 300 miles on this bike in ten years, ooofff. So as I'm doing with the mini Superbike thing, I hope to get to riding it.
I just put radial Conti Classic Attacks on it and I'm waiting for the snow to melt, and off I go!
