What do you do (for work) when you're not riding?

Been picking up some work as a substitute custodian with a couple of local school districts and collecting unemployment, (which is hardly worth the the effort it takes to get).
If I even hear back from a job I've applied for, it's always... "Thank you but we have other applicants who are better qualified for this position"
I finally figured out that this verbiage actually means,
"We would rather hire someone in their twenties than someone in their fifties"
I do have a small wood carving shop, which helps. If I can get enough products made, I can plan on booking myself into some craft fairs as the season gets into gear.

Been riding since mid 70's. Started out with a Honda XL250. Owned a Can Am 250, a Yamaha XS650 and wound up with a '74 Z1 900 in '77. Still have it.

Finishing up med-surg clinical next week. Summer will be pediatrics and labor & delivery clinical. Expect to graduate this December and sit HI and GA boards in January.
Other endeavors in reverse order...
- kitchen and bath renovation (satisfying but I dislike the paperwork associated with self employment)
- retired (spouse didn't cotton to the idea of working while I played)
- surplus electronics (Unix/networking/analytics, self employment paperwork sucks)
- research scientist (earth and sky)
- roofer (hot, nasty, low pay, but it sure improves cheap beer)
- navigator (oil exploration ship)
- physics & math instructor (girls prep school:-)
- electronics sales (I know the secret of successful sales and it can be yours for only $5)
- life guard (7 consecutive summers has cost me much more in medical bills than I made!)
- paper boy (pay your paper boy BEFORE buying your cigarettes!)

I was one of sixty-nine workers laid off from Timken Aerospace in Lebanon,NH last July and have been looking for a new full time job since then, without luck.
Been picking up some work as a substitute custodian with a couple of local school districts and collecting unemployment, (which is hardly worth the the effort it takes to get).

Hey, I'm posting a 'quote' reply to my own post! Is this the equivalent of talking to myself?
(On Star Trek, this would probably create some sort of Temporal Causality Loop)
Any way, I thought I’d ad to this post because one of the three school district that I am listed with, as an On-Call Substitute Custodian, called to say that they could keep me working all summer, if I was interested. Well, DUH! Of course I am, I’ve been circling the drain here and I need work! Of the three districts, this one has the highest pay scale. This is the first time I’ve had a chance to work for this district and if they’re satisfied with me then I could be up for a full time, benefited position in the Fall. Plus, working for the schools is strictly Monday thru Friday so my weekends are free to sell my woodshop stuff at the craft fairs.
This is the first time in months that I am beginning to think, maybe, the light at the end of the tunnel isn’t a train!
