Need Clear-Coat for Raw Aluminum was created by daveo
I have a couple NOS engine covers with the original factory applied protective finish on them.
Like to approximate that finish on several other J-motor covers that have no finish.
Anyone suggest a durable, fuel-resistant spray-can gloss finish for use on raw aluminum?

I've had good success with Cerakote clear on aluminum. Also Shine and Seal.

Have to look that one up Vinsky, shine and seal, never heard of it? I go thru the same deal Daveo, except it's the fork lowers. I have no clue as to what Kawasaki/Honda, etc used, tough stuff for sure. I can say one thing though, it's ALL in the preparation. As related to fork lowers, don't want a "highly polished" surface before clearing, brushed is preferred. Have been trying to reach out to car mag wheel suppliers for years, basically the same stuff but can't ever get a clear, pun, answer.

The product I mentioned isn't Shine and Seal, it's ShineSeal. If I recall correctly it use to be Zoop Seal.
