Prepare for sandblasting

I have inserted temp. bolts into the threads and I have used nuts over the treads to protect them.
I asume these is smart ?
But what do you do with the steering opening on top and button ? It must also be protected ?
I was thinking making some small woods pieces and use a long thread axle to keep them on place ?
But then will the wood also protect paint on the edge ?
I have attached what I mean, example from the to side, but was thinking doing the same on the button also ?

I'd be sure to tape off the VIN label if you are trying to save it. Be careful though, because the tape you use will likely remove the clear mylar over the top of the label. You might want to talk to your powdercoater about how best to protect the label.

I understand, I can see there a metal ring attached to the frame, and the bearing is gliding on these metal ring, I should replace the metal ring also? So I`m let the metal ring be there under blasting and paint, then I can remove the ring after at the frame will me nice and clean on the inside for new ring and bearing?
I don`t have any VIN label, only the frame number

They are nice to remove before blasting and painting?

I just the picture bad or ? the bearings I have (2) don`t looks like these?

You shouldn't have a problem getting a kit for your bike if they need replacing.

Ahh okey... then I have some questions
1. Must I measure the bearings manual to be able to order new ones?
2. How can I check what condition they are into? maybe I can reuse them?
3. Please see attached photo, there a ring (between the two red circles) and these ring is coned, and the bearings is gliding on it,
I think it`s identical on the bottom also, because the bearing is the same for top and bottom. Maybe the ring is 1,-1,5cm with/deep, same with as the bearing...
I guess I need to protect these ring under sand blasting ?
OR can I just replace the ring, easy ? I think I will let it stay ?

I have a 1980 Kawasaki KZ750 Ltd. I bought new. I recently managed to get it out of my garage after 28 years and put it on the road again (2010). I feel like a kid all over again. Since I have acquired 3 78 KZ1000 Ltd, 1 1981 KZ1000 Ltd, and another 1980 KZ750 Ltd. Love the LTD's.

Talking with the painting i will block the opening top and button and he will blast the frame and then manual take what is left when the blocking is removed.
